How to Vote Safely
Alternative Voting Methods in the 2020 Republican Primary Runoff Election
Your vote is important but you should not have to compromise the health and safety of you or your family in order to exercise your civic duty. If you anticipate that will be unable to vote on Election Day, March 31st, due to vacation, illness, or public health concern due to COVID-19, YOU CAN STILL VOTE using one of the following alternative methods:
EARLY VOTE: March 24th- March 27th, March 30th
If you simply want to avoid congested areas and lines, consider Early Voting. Typically, the foot traffic for Early Voting during a Primary Runoff Election is very low. Additionally, the Benton County Election Commission has announced it will be taking extra precautions to keep the voting environment as clean and socially-distanced as possible. Early Voting will be available Tuesday, March 24th through Friday, March 27th and Monday, March 30th from 8:00 – 4:30 at any Benton County Clerk’s Office.
ABSENTEE VOTE: Request Form Due March 23rd
If you will be out of town, are ill, or need to refrain from all unnecessary social contact due to COVID-19, consider requesting an absentee ballot from the Benton County Clerk’s Office using the Absentee Ballot Request Form.
Be sure to print clearly and mark that you are requesting a PREFERENTIAL PRIMARY ELECTION RUNOFF ballot for the REPUBLICAN party to ensure you get the correct ballot.
Absentee Ballot Request Forms can be mailed, faxed, or hand-delivered to any Benton County Clerk’s Office by the deadlines listed HERE. The deadline for the Clerk to mail out absentee ballots is March 24th so your request form needs to be received by their office prior to the mail going out on March 24th or they will be unable to issue your ballot. Additionally, once you receive your absentee ballot, be sure to complete it and return it ASAP along with a copy of your photo ID before the deadline of March 30th to ensure your vote is counted.
Please direct any questions to the Benton County Clerk’s Office at 479-271-1013 or visit their website at Vote.BentonCountyAR.gov to get the most up-to-date information.
Elections are important and I need your vote. However, the health and safety of everyone must remain our top priority. Please vote safely. As always, if I can help you in any way, election-related or not, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly at 479-236-3060 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
